Corporate Social Responsibility
WWW Group Ltd is committed to 'putting something back' - a policy exemplified by our website WoolworthsReunited.com, which we launched when the 818 strong retail chain collapsed into Administration in November 2008. During 2009 the site served more than a million pages and helped more than 4,500 of the firm's staff to find new jobs - mostly with other High Street stores and the supermarkets. The site also provides a mechanism for the former workers to get in touch with each other and supports them with answers to questions on benefits, claims and employment matters.
We created and fully funded the site, providing the service free of charge for both employees and employers at our own expense. Our work featured on BBC One's flagship Panorama and The Politics Show as well as on ITN's national news bulletins, including their signature programme, News at Ten. We consider this type of practical help to be the best way of making a difference.
We will shortly be launching a new, environment-related CSR initiative through our sister company Picolo Ltd., which we hope will continue our tradition of supporting the charity Kids First Trust, whose innovative Playground Partnerships scheme has captivated the imagination of schoolchildren across the UK and has funded upgrades to the play facilities at a number of schools both for able-bodied and disabled children. Kids First Trust is funded by voluntary contributions and every penny counts. Please visit Justgiving if you would like to make a donation to support their ground-breaking work or make a donation. |
